There’s a reason to trust Julie Taylor before she’s touched your feet: she spent the best part of forty years as an NHS nurse — a District Nursing Sister, working across community nursing, complex discharge, public health and end-of-life care — before turning to reflexology full-time. That background runs through everything she does.
She’s a clinical reflexologist, trained to Level 5 (the highest practitioner standard in the UK), working from a quiet garden treatment room in Stockport. Two things set her practice apart. The first is Adaptive Integrated Reflexology — she adjusts pressure and technique to the person in front of her rather than running the same routine on everyone, which matters if you’ve a physical limitation or a complicated history. The second is Reflexology Lymph Drainage, a more specialised technique that works with the lymphatic reflexes and is often chosen by people dealing with swelling or fluid retention.
What her nursing years really buy you is safety. Julie’s comfortable working around existing conditions, medications and the things a lot of therapists would rather not navigate — she reads feet the way she once read charts, noticing temperature, skin and tension, and builds the session around what she finds. Most people describe her ninety-minute treatments as the deepest rest they’ve had in ages.
Something to try before you come
Tonight, before bed, take two minutes to press slowly along the sole of each foot with your thumbs — arch, heel, under the toes. It won’t cure anything, but it’s a small, reliable way to tell a wound-up body it’s allowed to stop. That signal is a lot of what reflexology is doing.
Julie brings her clinical reflexology to the Mind Body Spirit & Wellness Weekend, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026 at Stockport Masonic Guildhall — one of over 70 readers, healers and stallholders across the two days.
