Rachel Cope (International Psychic Medium)

Rachel Cope runs the Angel Attic Independent Psychic Centre in Stafford, and she reads with what she calls a refreshingly up-beat modern approach to clairvoyance, with love and laughter. That tone tells you a lot before you have even sat down. She takes the work seriously without taking herself too seriously, and she will be at the Guildhall giving demonstrations of mediumship across both days in September.

She describes her aim as breathing new life into mediumship, and her practice is evidential, meaning the emphasis is on specific, recognisable detail rather than vague reassurance. She works internationally as well as from her centre in Stafford.

What an evening of mediumship is like

A demonstration is a room, an audience and a medium working aloud. Rachel passes on messages she describes as coming from people in spirit, and the evidential style means she is aiming for details that the person receiving the message actually recognises, a name, a habit, a shared memory. You do not have to be picked to get something out of it. Plenty of people come to watch, to see how it works, or because a particular kind of loss has brought them there. The love and laughter she talks about is part of the point: these evenings are warm rather than solemn.

Angel Attic in Stafford

The centre is her home base and it is where the wider range of her work sits. Alongside private readings she offers workshops, video sessions for people who cannot get to Stafford, and event and corporate bookings. She also works as a funeral celebrant, which is a serious and separate skill, leading services for families and writing them around the person who has died. It is worth knowing that the warmth people describe in her readings is the same thing families lean on at a funeral.

Who tends to come to her

People come to a medium for different reasons and Rachel’s are the usual ones: someone has died and there is more they wanted to say, or a decision is sitting unresolved, or they are simply curious and want to see an evidential medium at work. Her modern, unstuffy style suits people who are put off by anything that feels heavy or theatrical. You can come sceptical. Most demonstrations are more interesting when you do.

Something to try this week

Rachel’s evidential style is built on small, specific detail, and you can borrow that habit for your own memories. Pick someone you have lost and, instead of the big picture, write down three tiny things: how they held a cup, a phrase they always used, the way they said your name. Specifics are where a person actually lives. It is a quiet, grounding thing to do, and it costs nothing.

Rachel Cope is one of over 70 readers, healers and stallholders at the Mind Body Spirit & Wellness Weekend, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026, at Stockport Masonic Guildhall. Her demonstrations, like every session across the weekend, are included with entry.
