Julie Silver goes by The Vitality Fairy, and her work is about the ordinary building blocks of feeling well: what you eat, how you sleep, and how you handle stress. She is a nutrition and lifestyle coach and author based in Manchester.
Her approach is practical rather than preachy. She works with people who are tired, stretched and short on energy, and she looks for small changes that are realistic to keep up, rather than a strict overhaul nobody sticks to.
Food as a starting point
Nutrition is at the centre of Julie’s work. Her book Food Awakening: Nutrition for NOW sets out her thinking, and much of what she shares is about making food that supports your energy without being complicated. She often works with gluten-free, dairy-free and refined-sugar-free recipes, and she caters for both plant-based eaters and those who include animal products, so the advice tends to flex around real households.
Sleep, stress and everyday energy
A good deal of Julie’s work is about sleep and stress, and how the two feed each other. Her sessions are designed to help people build simple routines that make rest easier and days steadier. She runs a workshop on sleeping well, which is a fair summary of her wider message: sort the foundations and a lot else follows.
Experience behind the fairy dust
Julie has spent more than twenty years working in natural health, and alongside one-to-one coaching she has run wellbeing programmes for large organisations. That mix shows in how she talks: grounded, specific, and aimed at what you can actually do on a Monday rather than an ideal week that never arrives.
Something to try this week
For one week, put your phone down and your lights low about thirty minutes before bed, and have a glass of water instead of a late coffee or a glass of wine. It is not dramatic, but a steadier wind-down is one of the simplest things Julie points people towards, and you will likely notice the difference in how you wake up.
