Lisa Perkins (Clairvoyant Tarot · Mediumship Demo)

Lisa Perkins works as a clairvoyant, a tarot reader and, in her own description, an empath. She is a medium, and alongside one-to-one intuitive guidance she gives demonstrations of mediumship, standing in front of a room and passing on the messages she says she is receiving.

She will be at the Guildhall in September, and she gives a demonstration of mediumship during the weekend as well as offering readings.

Clairvoyance, mediumship and being an empath

These three words describe overlapping but slightly different things, and it helps to know which is which. Mediumship is about connecting with people who have passed, and relaying what comes through. Clairvoyance is a broader intuitive sense, a reading of impressions and images. Describing herself as an empath points to how she works, tuning in closely to the feeling of a person or a room. In practice these run together in a single reading, but that is roughly what each is doing.

Tarot sits alongside them as another tool, a way of giving the intuitive side something concrete to work from.

What a demonstration of mediumship is like

A demonstration is a group event rather than a private sitting. The medium works with the room, offers messages, and looks for the person they seem to be meant for. If something is passed to you, you are usually asked to confirm whether it makes sense, which is part of how the demonstration is shaped as it goes. You can simply watch if you would rather not take part, and plenty of people come along just to see how it works.

For someone who has lost a person they love, a demonstration can be a quiet, comforting thing to sit in on, whether or not a message comes their way.

What it can and cannot be

It is worth being honest about what mediumship offers. It is not a guaranteed line to a specific person on demand, and no reputable medium can promise exactly who will come through or what will be said. What people describe taking away is usually a sense of comfort, connection or reassurance, rather than proof of anything.

Held in that spirit, with realistic expectations, a demonstration can be a genuinely moving experience. Held as a promise of contact to order, it sets an expectation no one can honestly meet.

Something to try this week

You do not need a medium to sit with a memory. Pick one person you have lost, or simply someone you miss, and take a few quiet minutes to recall one specific, ordinary moment with them: a phrase they always used, a meal, a place. Let it be what it is. This small, deliberate act of remembering is often at the heart of why people find a demonstration comforting, and you can do it any time, on your own terms.

Lisa Perkins is one of over 70 readers, healers and stallholders at the Mind Body Spirit & Wellness Weekend, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026, at Stockport Masonic Guildhall. Her demonstration and readings, like every session across the weekend, are included with entry.
